It has been very quiet on Havergate Island with no visitors coming along to visit. However, the good news is we have been working towards getting our visitor trips and events up and running again! Our full events programme and booking information can be found here

All our usual trips will be going ahead including our event weekends over the Spring and Autumn and our Havergate Adventure will be back in the Summer. Our boat October Storm has been spruced up and we will be completing the last bit of infrastructure maintenance work on the Jetty in January.

We are all looking forward to welcoming visitors back in the new year.

We have had some extremely high tides recently combined with small tidal surges which have resulted in our spillways overtopping. This is absolutely fine and what they are designed to do. It just means the water levels are very high in the lagoons! However, despite this,

we have had a variety of birds over the past few weeks.

Here are some recent counts. 17 brent goose, 252 Canada goose, 56 shelduck, 211 shoveler, 605 wigeon, 32 pintail, 498 teal, 1 goldeye, 356 cormorant, 440 avocet, 97 grey plover, 11 ringed plover, 529 godwit, 39 knot, 2340 dunlin, 1 little stint, 2 merlin, 2 peregrine and plenty of rock pipits!
