Black-tailed Godwits

The fog across the marshes last Tuesday morning was very slow to clear.  I was there at 6.0am but it was almost 9.0 before any distance could be enjoyed.  Still the slowly clearing mist was evocative, only the sounds of elusive birds in the mist.  Then as the day wore on the sounds of the distance world before the helicopters destroyed the peace. 

As the mist cleared on the scrape a black- tailed godwit emerged, later along on the Shapwick scrape I counted a further 15
