Firstly, the reserve is still closed...but there is some great news on the way! With the run of dry weather recently, and more forecasted for the coming week, we are working very hard to reopen just as soon as it is safe to do so. Please bear with us for another week or so and hopefully, we can report that we are open for business as usual very soon.

Spring is defiantly in the air, however, as I spent Sunday at Greylake in the warm sunshine. The first sign at spring for me is the sight of Brimstone butterflies and there were certainly alot around making the most of the first days of warmer weather. I even had a couple of sightings of Peacock butterfly, which I really enjoy.

Last but not least, I had lovely views of my first chiffchaff this year flitting in and out of the ivy-covered trees in the picnic area, calling its name at the top of his voice.
