Don't miss this years Heron's Above at RSPB Swell Wood - April 13th and 14th 11 am - 3 pm!
Discover the herons at RSPB Swell Wood as they are building their nests and feeding their young. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to show you this amazing spectacle. As before we will have a scope and binoculars available to help give visitors close up views of the herons on their nests. Heron's are early nesters so we should see young birds poking their heads over the nest tops and noisily calling for food. There will also be a trail for children (and the young at heart) running around the woodland loop to learn more about these long legged birds. Trails cost £1 each.
New for this year we will also be running a crane watch point where we hope to show you a glimpse the majestic Somerset cranes out across the Somerset Levels and Moor. We will have a scope set up and a volunteer on hand.
