Nagshead 28-10-2014
A good selection of insects still on the wing in the mild weather, including Southern Hawker, Common Darter, Red Admiral, Peacock, Small Tortoiseshell and Speckled Wood.
Bramblings and Redwings have now arrived on the reserve. Bramblings can be found feeding on beech mast with Chaffinches in Russell's Inclosure and on the western ridge along the track beyond the Campbell Hide path. Hawfinches may also be encountered here.
