RSPB Geltsdale is delighted to host an exhibition by Helen Walsh an Artist and Creative Practitioner who lives and works in Cumbria.

Helen specialises in drawing and textiles, in particular delicate stitch work. She is fascinated by the natural world and our connection to it.  Birds (especially the crow family) and feathers have become an important element in her work.

Choosing to work predominantly with natural fibres such as silk and linen, Helen finds herself consistently drawn to the traditional textile skills of embroidery, knitting and dyeing and enjoys the connections with the, often forgotten, makers of the past that working this way gives her.

Helen is also a skilled and experienced workshop leader and she will be hosting a textile workshop at Stagsike Visitor Centre on Saturday 17th June.

For more information about Helen and her work see: http://www.delicatestitches.co.uk/

The Exhibition is free to view 9:00am to 5:00pm 7 days per week at the Geltsdale Visitor Centre, Stagsike Cottages, Hallbankgate.
