Thought we would share this lovely moment with you and with anyone who fancies a visit to Garston Wood, Dorset. This was taken early this morning (Bank Holiday Monday 2013) at Garston Wood. What a lovely shot my husband Robin took and how lucky were we to come across the deer peeking out of the Bluebells in the early sunlight (I take it it's a him if he has antlers!). The Bluebells were lovely although looking at them we would leave it another week or so and they might be at their best... We havent been there before and it was so peaceful and being early morning we could hear many a bird chattering away. Another walker spotted nuthatches and tree creepers, and there are supposed to be woodpeckers about although we were sorry not to see one.
Apparently the butterflies are starting to appaear too so all in all perhaps a lovely place to visit over the next week or so.
Hello Claire, what a lovely shot of the deer amongst the blue bells, well done.

Claire, Beautiful photo. If you get a chance go back again this is one area with a possibility of Turtle Dove.

Thank you for the tip on the turtle dove, not see one before. Thanks for the nice comments about hubbies photo - he is a keen amateur but is improving all the time.
