Springwatch might have finished on the TV, but there is plenty of wildlife fun for you at the Frampton Marsh this weekend.

You can use high-tech gizmos to find some of the most mysterious of Lincolnshire’s creatures on Saturday night, from 9 pm.

Bats and moths are night-time fliers that you rarely see. But using sophisticated equipment, you will be able to listen in to bat’s high-pitched conversations. Then a special lamp will draw moths in allowing you to get a close-up look at them.

Advance booking is essential for this event, with tickets costing £4 for adults and £2 for children.

On the Sunday there is more fun to found for your kids, with a family fun day.

Alongside some crazy craft activities, you can get your face painted or investigate the watery wildlife with some pond dipping.

Special guests Rhubarb Theatre will also be on hand to entertain you with their energetic performance “The Case of the Curious Suitcase”.

Commissioned by the Transported project, this exciting street theatre follows three strangers as they meet at a station and their adventures as they wait for the train.

The family fun day runs from 10:30 am to 4 pm and costs £3 per child. The Rhubarb Theatre performances are between 11 am and 1 pm, and are free to watch.

Chris Andrews, Visitor Services Officer for the reserve, said; “From family fun to showing off curious creatures, Frampton Marsh is always a great place to visit and get closer to nature.”
