One swallow doesn't make a summer...but it's a good start.

I was reading up on my swallow/swift/martin ID this afternoon and I got all nostalgic for the balmy days of summer.

THEREFORE I'm keen to know when the first swallows start arriving.

So keen in fact that I'm offering to bake a cake (only a little one mind, I'm no Delia) for the first person who can catch a snap of this years' arrivals.

Preferably with some feature identifying it as being taken at Frampton or Freiston and a date stamp.
No sneakily bringing in photos taken last year, you know who you are...John Badley.

Please pop your picture on the blog, comment on here and I'll organise to get your prize to you.

Happy Snapping!

  • Oh, setting up a sweepstake are we? Judging by the wonderful weather this weekend I would hope for March 24th/25th, but that's probably just wishful thinking.

seymouraves, in repsonse to your comment; the competition was going to be just for barn swallows, but I think I'll extend it to include sand martins as well.

So there are now TWO cakes up for grabs!
