Actually yes, it's a plane!
During the Second World War, Lincolnshire was a veritable hive of activity. Lots of airfields were in the area, with bombers based here and going over to bomb Nazi Germany. Today most are disused, but some are still active, and some are used as musueums. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is based at RAF Coningsby, not too far away and we do sometimes see their planes going over.
Yesterday, whilst I was in the visitor centre, my phone rang. It was Simon our assistant warden, sounding very excitied. 'Look out of the centre windows', he enthused. 'What a wonderful sight!'
And yes, it was. A Lancaster bomber, a Spitfire and a Hurricane, all going over in formation. Yes, birds aren't the only things with wings that we like to see

Reedbed, freshwater scrapes, saltmarsh and wet meadow. Frampton Marsh has it all! Come and pay us a visit soon.
BBMF have also been seen from boat trips into the Wash. The red arrows sometimes go over as well.
I wonder what that was that just flew past??
