Well, what a lovely day! The sun has been shining with all its might. And with a light breeze, it made the reserve lovely and warm. Just what you need for a family fun day.
Did you come along? If not then you missed out. We were making nestboxes to put up at home, a hive of industrious activity. Liz our face painter was in fine form with some lovely designs. Plus badges to be made, masks worn and a chance to see how good you'd be as a blackbird, looking for food amongst fallen leaves. And more than all that, we also were visited by Angela from the Fenland Textile workshop. She brought her antique sewing machines and cloth dyed with woad. Visitors then made little bags to take home.
If all this sounds like great fun but you didn't come to see us, then do come along to our next family fun day on Sunday 4 August.
Reedbed, freshwater scrapes, saltmarsh and wet meadow. Frampton Marsh has it all! Come and pay us a visit soon.
