Day five of the twelve days of Christmas. So what am I talking about this time? Ring-necked parakeets? Colour rings and the information it gives about the movement of birds? Maybe gold will be the key word, and I'll talk about goldfinches or goldcrests?
Nope, I want to talk about a different sort of ring. The sort your telephone makes.
If you have a problem, and no-one else can help, you can call the A Team. But if it is about birds or other wildlife, you might be better off phoning us here at the RSPB. Here are five different numbers for you to use.
Telephone by Holger Elgard
Lincolnshire Wash Reserves office - 01205 724678 Well, I had to put this first! If you want any information about what is happening at either Frampton Marsh or Freiston Shore, this is the number to call. We can help with details of events or to book you in, opening times, recent sightings and comments about the reserve. Schools can call us to book classes in for our field teaching. Adult groups can also give us a buzz, either for a guided walk around either reserve, or someone to come out and give a talk to your meeting. Best of all, if you decide you like our work and want to support us by joining as a member, you can do that over the phone with us too.
Membership Enquiries - 01767 693680Lost your membership cards? Changed your address? Want to change the amount you donate? magazine not arrived? These are the people for you. They can clear up all sorts of problems in a jiffy. You can join over the phone with them too.
Wildlife Enquiries - 01767 693690Only one digit different, so dial carefully! These guys and gals can help with the wildlife side of any questions you may have. From what the RSPB policy is on any issue, to how to best feed your blue tits.
RSPB shop - 0845 1 200 501For all enquiries about our online shop, the products or an order you may have placed, give this number a tinkle
East of England Regional Office - 01603 661662A good general number to call this one. The regional office can help in all sorts of ways, from giving advice, talking about volunteering opportunities or just being able to find the right person to direct your call towards.
Oh, and on a final note, please do remember we are not a welfare charity. If you find a sick or injured bird, the people to call are the RSPCA. They can be contacted on 0300 1234 999.
Reedbed, freshwater scrapes, saltmarsh and wet meadow. Frampton Marsh has it all! Come and pay us a visit soon.
