Alas, the time has come for us here at Frampton to say goodbye to Charlotte, our excellent and popular Visitor Services Trainee. Charlotte has been working with us since April last year as part of a Heritage Lottery funded project to give young people a head start in the world of engaging with visitors on nature reserves.

And now a word from the lady herself:

So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, adieu

The time has finally come for me to say goodbye. Today has been my last day working here at Frampton Marsh as a Visitor Services Trainee. I’ve had such a great time working with a great team and I’m sad I can’t stay. My 18 month contract has flown by and I’m very grateful for the opportunities it has given me.

One of the best things about getting to work at such an awesome place has been the wildlife I’ve got to see. Not many people can say they can watch bounding hares from their office! Getting to see the two black-winged stilts that graced us with their presence last year has to be a highlight for me along with our now famous glossy ibis. Watching dragonflies darting about while pond dipping has also got to be up there, along with gazing at the swallow chicks getting fed by their mum through the visitor centre window. There really are too many memorable moments to mention but it’s true to say I will never forget my time here.

As my position has been Heritage Lottery funded, I’ve been all over the country on training courses. Probably my favourite place I’ve been is Plas Tan y Bwlch in North Wales, what a great setting for some inspiration. I’m sure you’ll agree (see photo below), pretty inspiring!

A big thank you to everyone that I’ve worked with while I’ve been here, I’ll miss you all. I’m looking forward to seeing where life takes me, who knows maybe I’ll be back some day!

We all wish Charlotte well with her future career. And just as a final send-off, here she is, back last year at our Spooky Sunday Funday

Reedbed, freshwater scrapes, saltmarsh and wet meadow. Frampton Marsh has it all! Come and pay us a visit soon.
