Todays beautiful weather really makes me feel like summer is just around the corner. Walking around the reserve you are treated with the sounds of chaotic sedge warblers, rhythmic reed warblers and melodic skylarks amongst others. This really is an exciting time of year at the reserve when chicks start to appear and butterflies and dragonflies are increasing in numbers.

We’ve got a Family Fun Day running this Sunday so it’s the perfect time to bring your little ones along to the reserve. They can paint a colourful butterfly, decorate an animal mask, make a seed bomb and create a paper flower all for £3! It runs from 10.30am-4pm in the visitor centre. After you’ve had a go at the crafts, venture out onto the reserve to enjoy the sounds and sights of the season.

We hope to see you there!
