NEW! - 29 June 2020

Further to the blog post below, we are now opening our accessible toilet between 10 am and 4 pm, weekends only.

--------------------------------------------------

Howdy folks! And welcome back to, well... me. Chris the Visitor Manager. Back out of furlough and straight back into the thick of things.

What has promoted this? Well, as you might have seen on social media, here at Frampton Marsh and at Freiston Shore we are having a partial reopening of the reserve. To quote the official release:

We have opened our trails and the car parks at Frampton, but please be mindful that they have limited capacity. Our visitor centre, toilets and hides remain closed. We urge our visitors to please stay local to your nearest reserves and greenspaces.  Anyone choosing to visit should observe all current government advice around social distancing and hygiene.

A little more detail here. To reiterate the visitor centre, including the toilets, will be closed. For this weekend there will be an RSPB staff member on duty there to help with any enquiries. Mostly me, come say hello (at a suitable distance, of course). The hides will also not be open, and the dead-end paths up to 360 hide and East hide will be closed. May I also point out that a section of the Wash trail will currently only be open for certain times of the day, 9:30 am until 4:00 pm. You can see all this on the map below

Whilst we are in this partially re-opened state there will be no charge to access the reserve paths, and you will not have to collect an entry wristband. If you would like to support our work at Frampton Marsh, there will be a donations cairn outside the visitor centre, which will be disinfected daily.

There is news about Freiston too:

We have opened our car park and trails, but please be mindful as it has limited capacity. Please stay local to your nearest reserves/greenspaces. Anyone choosing to visit should observe all advice around social distancing and hygiene.

The car parking charges at Freiston do apply. Please use the car parking machine, socially distancing if there is a queue. The machine itself will be thoroughly disinfected daily.

We will of course let you know about any future changes to our reserves when and as they happen. Stay safe, and I look forward to seeing you again soon.
