Alas, Hollywood isn't coming to Frampton (though if any celebs are reading this, we'd be happy to welcome you!). No, this is advance notice of a fun event.

You may remember last year we did the Big Wild Sleepout. The RSPB national event encouraging people to sleep outside, either on one of our reserves or in their back garden. This year it also ran, but we were unable to do it at Frampton as the land wasn't available. Well, now it is, so we are putting on our own special version!

On Saturday 30 August you can spend the night on the reserve, snug in your tent, surrounded by the sounds of nature. Be lulled off to sleep by the murmurings of godwits, then wake to the song of skylarks. There will be some fun activities too. A sunset walk will be followed by toasting marshmallows over a fire. We'll listen out for bats and set up our moth trap too. We hope to have our friends the South Lincs Astronomy Group along to show us the mysteries of the universe, with a spot of star-gazing. Then, after a hot chocolate, it is off to bed! In the morning we'll open up the moth trap to see what we have caught before bidding you farewell.

Numbers on this event are absolutely limited, and so you do need to book your space by calling 01205 724678 or emailing lincolnshirewashreserves@rspb.org.uk. Places cost £15 per adult, £7.50 per child with RSPB members getting a 20% discount. Not a member? You can always join on the night! You will need to supply your own camping equipment. Sorry, but we don't have a cafe on-site so we advise you to either eat beforehand or to bring your own food and/or cooking equipment to use in the designated cooking area.

So what are you waiting for?

Reedbed, freshwater scrapes, saltmarsh and wet meadow. Frampton Marsh has it all! Come and pay us a visit soon.
