Well the cow GPS collars turned up today and we thought it would be fun to test them out on some of the staff. Here we are vaguely pretending to be grazing cows!
These collars do have a more serious purpose however! They will be strapped around the necks of cows and used to track where the cattle go on the saltmarsh. This is to see if cows are affecting redshanks by trampling on their nests and so is quite an important bit of fieldwork. The collars will be going on the cows within the next week.
