This morning was a high tide at Frampton Marsh, 8.1metres, which brings the water all the way across the Wash and up to our sea wall. It’s a bit grey out there but I wrapped up warmly to venture out at 8.30 and it was definitely worth the chills.

I was only out for about 15 minutes, and wasn’t really concentrating as 8.30’s still pretty early for me, but I saw 18 species!

Dark bellied brent goose
Graylag goose
Mute swan
Mallard
Shoveler
Shelduck
Coot
Redshank
Curlew
Lapwing
Little Egret
Black-tailed godwit
Herring gull
Black-headed gull
Reed bunting
Skylark (singing despite the wind and drizzle)
Magpie

And...as I was coming back down the track, a peregrine flew over head!

Not a bad start to the day.
