I popped down to Fowlsheugh yesterday....it's officially my day off today, so my blog will be a short montage of the wildlife I encountered, in no particular order: ......thousands of seabirds, on the cliffs and on the sea as far as I could see...guillemots, razorbills, kittiwakes, fulmars,...seven bottle nosed dolphins, rock pipits, short eared owl, buzzard, dramatic skies and mirror calm sea, , fox poo, badger sett, scurvy grass, lesser celandine, faint whiff of coconut form the gorse, grey and common seals, 4 sea kayakers enjoying inquisitive grey seals, wren, song thrush, herring gulls, great black backed gulls, puffballs, but....no puffins..but they will be back soon..I am sure!!!! It was a very springlike day and had a great walk along the cliffs...thinking and planning the 2012 season.....please visit and enjoy our wonderful reserve soon! Vicky
