We can't guarantee puffins, but there's a very good chance that we will see them!
Just back from the first guided walk of the seabird season at Fowlsheugh. Led by our Voluntary Warden, Mark Sullivan, we had a superb evening enjoying the seabird activity. The kittiwakes are nest building in earnest. Large flocks are on the grassy clifftops gathering grass and mud, which I always think is is a strange sight at a seabird colony..i don't know why, maybe it's just me! The first kittiwake egg was noted. As advertised, we "picked out a puffin", in fact a total of 5. We also saw quite a few eider ducks on the water, plus the odd shag. The next walk is next Wednesday..get in quick, they are popular!
