We have been fairly lucky over the last week...

Firstly the weather has been mainly dry, with quite a bit of sunshine and enough of a breeze that has kept the worst of the midges away (although the clegs are much more hardcore!). Secondly we have had RSPB staff photographer Andy Hay on the reserve.

Andy has a huge wealth of photography experience and has been an RSPB staff photographer since 1993. Although the reserve staff try to capture the landscape, wildlife and work we do on camera it is brilliant to have a professional photographer on site for a couple of days to help try and convey the vast landscape and the conservation work we do. Hopefully you will see the results of Andy’s work over the next couple of months, but until then you can check out his profile at rspb-images or have a look at my much more amateur photos of our time with Andy below:
