Had a great day at the Ings today. My third visit and I must say, the best so far. Numerous goosenader on the main lake and a lot of golen eye - the males all starting to 'show-off' a bit. We walked the whole outer edge of the reserve, along the river and back again, tired now back at home (in Nottingham) but well worth it! The best bit of the day was meeting THE most grumpiest mute swan ever!! We had stopped for lunch in the far car park, before walking the far end of the reserve near the railway bridge and we met Frank, well thats what we named him!! He was the grumpiest swan you'll ever meet!! He just kept chasing all the other swans and ducks round and around the pond!! Frank - you made our day!!
M :o)
I'm glad to hear you had such a great day at Fairburn Mandy. We'll keep an eye out for Frank the swan, he sounds like a real character!
