Autumn. What does it mean to you? For me, it's colour, long walks in the cool autumnal air, blue skies and and white clouds, followed by a hot drink in front of an open fire, and possibly a pub lunch. The low lemon light enhances the browns, golds, reds and yellows. The incoming flocks of geese and swans all signal that there's change afoot. Children love exploring the fallen leaves, trying to identify which leafy tree top they may well have fallen from. Conkers, still high on the agenda. And a large, chestnut nugget is still the treasure they all hunting for. Seeing them all wrapped up in wooly hats, gloves and scarves. All just adds to the cosy feeling.
