Well the result is in and it is more or less what I anticipated. Which is why at 3-00pm today while most of the nation was glued to the telly I was at Fairburn.
The Kingfisher who has been very active at Pick up hide never showed but Ringed Plover, Little Ringed Plover, Redshank, common Sandpiper and Reed Bunting complimented the usual assortment of water fowl and songbirds observed.
Over at Lin Dyke all of the above were in evidence along with a lone Little Egret and, star of the day, a Hobby swooping on dragonflies which it was eating on the wing.
