just robins in this thread as they could be heard all over the place, and its quite easy to be close to one, as they concentrate on belting out their songs.
Marvellous. At least two of them are ringed. Are you able to see the numbers in any of your photos?

I have not worked out the detail MC but imagine that the local wardens will be aware of these birds being so close to the centre, but maybe not!
Magical AB, do so love those captures of Robin singing!

Really enjoying going through all your Fairburn Ings photos Andrew. My parents live only 5 miles away from this reserve (and I grew up near it) and although it's not my favourite reserve, it's almost like a second home to me - I call in every time I visit my parents! If it's any consolation, you've done far better than me with your kingfisher (great pics on the other thread by the way) - I've never seen one through that viewing screen in all the visits I've made, even though there was an at one time an awful lot of photos displayed that other people had taken!) The reserve is great for the garden birds.
As for your photos, those robins are simply gorgeous, especially the ones where he is singing his socks off!

thanks ChristineB, it was lucky I came across the kingfisher and lots of other people were stood around that screen waiting and I felt quite smug that I had seen it elsewhere.
The garden birds were thriving and it was nice to be able to get close and in decent light too. The water birds were quite distant and it was only when walking along the road that I saw a heron.
Which are your favourite reserves, should I ever be near them?
Some of the most endearing Robins in Yorkshire, the way they pose for photos they must be members of the actors union Equity.
