The bittern continues to be seen on Phalarope pool, in fact, yesterday it was reported there were two seen at the same time!! Still no booming been heard though but keeping our fingers crossed :)

There has also been lots of interesting sightings reported from the flashes, including red headed smew, little egrets, pintail, snipe, Icelandic gull and barnacle geese.

From Pickup hide there has been treecreeper, curlew, reed bunting and a few reports of marsh harrier.

From the top of Red Shale Road and looking over Big Hole there have been willow tits, red kite and singing skylarks.

On Main bay there has been great crested grebe, gadwall, widgeon, goldeneye, oystercatcher, shelduck and teal along with loads of black headed gulls and even a few greater black-backed gulls.

Nuthatches, redpoll, reed bunting, and a cacophony of tits and finches including loads of siskin and goldfinch continue to visit the feeders around the visitor centre.

And on a non bird note, a stoat was seen crossing the path around the discovery zone.
