For those brave enough to get out and about today the weather doesn't seem to have put off the birds and there's been a nice selection across the reserve.
Our volunteer Andy started off today's list with a ruff opposite new flash, unfortunately no longer sporting the incredible breeding plumage but beautiful nevertheless. Further down at Lin Dike was a buzzard and great spotted woodpecker and 2 little grebes at the moat.
From Pickup we've seen a little egret flying over and a pied wagtail flitting across the mud.
Following the Discovery Trail round to the feeder screen for a glimpse of a linnet along with some of the usual woodland bird suspects.
We have had a kingfisher sighting but from the pond dipping platform today, and long tailed tits from the kingfisher screen.
Since the weekend we've had a juvenile grey wagtail, redstart, a female marsh harrier, snipe, wigeon, green sandpipers, common sandpiper, more buzzards, a couple other kingfisher sightings, greenshank, curlew, yellowhammer and a reedbunting on the wildlife garden feeders.
