The female smew has moved from its residence at the kingfisher screen and has been seen at Lin Dyke over the last couple of days. On Thursday a little egret was seen fishing from Pickup hide before it moved down to the moat where it joined a great crested grebe. Two adult and 6 immature white fronted geese were present at Hicksons pool this afternoon.
A lucky visitor got a suprise this morning when a bittern flew from the stream at the Kingfisher screen and the kingfisher its self has been showing well. A weasel was also seen here and this has been a great place to see some unusual wildlife in the last couple of weeks!
A lesser redpoll has been a regular visitor to the nyjer seed feeders at the visitor centre and a pair of buzzards were seen soaring over the car park.
