Introducing Janine and Chris, our new Volunteer Coordinators at St Aidan’s and Fairburn Ings. They recruit and support our wonderful team of over a 100 volunteers.
Chris says “I’m a relative newbie, having joined the team in January. So pleased I decided to volunteer with RSPB (and that they were prepared to take me on!). I’ve missed being part of a team since I retired and have been made to feel so welcome at Fairburn. The fact that we do it for a good cause makes it even better.”
Janine is not only a Volunteer Coordinator but a Volunteer Ranger as well. She comments “I don’t think there’s a better ‘office’ than this! I love being part of the fabulous team of staff and volunteers at St Aidan’s. The Volunteer Coordinator role has given me the chance to utilise my career skills, as well as learning new things. It’s just the best way to spend time! “
Between them they’re currently organizing Volunteer Week from 1-7 June at our Aire Valley Reserves. If you fancy becoming part of ‘One team for nature’ why not come along and find out more!
