A very Happy New Year to everyone from all the staff at Fairburn Ings!
Today was a very busy day for visitors and a lot of people were treated to great views of the kingfisher at the screen it spent most of the day perched in a bush on the right hand bank of the stream, an added bonus was the female smew that was also present there on and off all day. Siskins were putting on a good show around the board walk and the water rail was seen feeding in the wildlife garden again.
