There are only a few more days to get your entries in for our amateur photo competition; the closing date is midnight on Saturday 16 February. Have you been to Fairburn Ings in the last year and taken a great photo? It can be of anything at all so long as it shows the ‘nature of Fairburn Ings’ and was taken either on or of RSPB Fairburn Ings.

So have you got a picture of a beautiful sunset over the flashes, or did you get some shots of the colourful wildflowers during summer, the beautiful colours of autumn or maybe you got a picture of the reserve looking stunning in the frost and snow of January. Whatever your picture is, you’re in with a chance of winning the fantastic prize for the Best Picture in the Competition of half a day’s photography tuition with Paul Miguel, a local expert wildlife photographer.

The competition is open to all ages, and the short listed entrants will have their photo displayed in the visitor centre, the public will then vote for their favourites from the shortlisted images. If you want to enter then simply upload your pictures to the Flickr group RSPB Fairburn Ings Photographic Competition 2012 http://www.flickr.com/groups/fairburn-ings-photo-comp/ make sure you include your name, age (whether you are in the over 16 or under 16 age group) and a way of contacting you.
