Hi there! How’s it going?

In this first week of December I attended to the Quad bike training on Monday and First Aid training on Thursday.

For the first time I’ve ridden a quad bike and to be honest it was great! Although I’ve never ridden a quad bike before I immediately felt at ease in the saddle. We tried a lot of different things such as going up and down hills, riding through very deep ruts, slaloms and reversing with and without a trailer. But the most difficult task was to reverse with a trailer in a straight line because you have to steer in the opposite way than usual so in the beginning it’s a bit strange.

Furthermore on Thursday I attended a First Aid training organized from the British Red Cross in Exeter. We took into account a lot of different case such as recovery position, CPR, burns, scalds, choking and so on. I think it’s very important to know how to behave in case someone gets hurt, but of course, I hope I will never need to put into practice what I’ve learnt in this course.

The other days of the week I’ve involved to the building of a shed bike in the Exminster office because the space that we used for bicycles it will be used from the RSPB Regional office to store some materials.

And finally, like every Friday I’ve checked the water levels in Exminster marshes.

See you next week!
