We had our first Winter Wildlife Guided Walk of 2023 led by Paul Trodd. It was a great turn out of attendees and wildlife, with sightings including greenfinches, goldeneye, great white egret, and kestrels.

The next guided walk is on the 15th February, it will be interesting to see what wildlife is spotted being a month on.

We those who took part to in the Big Garden Birdwatch this year, if you haven’t submitted your results in already then follow the link below. https://bit.ly/BGBWResults I spotted 11 species in my garden this year with a wren being the highlight of the hour.

Upcoming Events
The first Sound Mirror Open Day is on 12th March. This is a great event where attendees will have access to the island where the mirrors are located between the hours of 11am-3pm. Mr Peter Osbourne a local expert, publisher of the ‘Echoes from the Sky’ and the author of 'RAF Biggin Hill, The Other Side of the Bump' book will also be hosting talks throughout that day.

  Sound mirrors - Barnaby Apps

On the 22nd February we have the Sound Mirror Exclusive Art & Photography Day. This is for those wanting a calmer, quieter experience of the Sound Mirrors for a personal creative project such as sound recording, art, film making or photography.

Our pond dipping open days are for those who want to explore wildlife beneath the surface. It is free to participate, and visitor can pop in at any time between 11am-2.30pm. We did a few ponds dipping session in the summer of last year, which was rather successful, so we have planned at least one every school holidays. The aim of this event is to provide a fun activity for all and to increase visitors’ connection to nature.
