Over the summer, we have hosted lots of different Wild Family events. 'Wild Families' does what it says on the tin and invites families with children of all ages down to the reserve to take part in full day activities with us here, getting wild, [sometimes] wet and wowed!

During the school holidays we discovered what lives in our ponds, what our barn owls eat, learning about our moths, butterflies and bees and creating homes for them, surviving on desert islands by learning and using important bushcraft skills and even getting crafty in the bad weather with wildlife themed arts and crafts.

Learning about our medicinal leeches

Getting crafty!

Catching butterflies (and setting them free)

Bug and beastie hunting

Dissecting owl pellets

Purifying pond water

Building dens!

Thanks to all who came. We will most definitely be running more Wild Family events during the October half term and again next Easter and Summer holidays! Keep an eye out on our events page on our website or email louise.kelly@rspb.org.uk for more information.
