A quick update on what's around and about at the moment.

Up at Binn Green there have been good views of large flocks of Siskin still as well as Lesser Redpoll - it's been absolutely buzzing up there.  Frequent views of Great Spotted Woodpecker and  Treecreeper as well as of our regular finches and tits.

Elsewhere around Dove Stone there have been recent sightings of Dipper,  Grey Wagtail,  Stonechat,  Goldcrest,  Wren,  Meadow Pipit,  Curlew,  Raven,  Peregrine and Red Legged Partridge.

Here's a photo of a Grey Wagtail - simply because they're just such stunning birds.

On the non-bird front there have been good views of Mountain Hare lately.  They're still showing a reasonable amount of white but also very clearly moving into their non-winter pelage.

We've also been moth trapping at Dove Stone - blog post coming up on this and also on lichens soon as well as an update on our 2012 BioBlitz...
