Imale Crossbillt's been a while since we've written a Peregrine update.

Since the four young Peregrines have fledged if you've come down to Ashway Gap you might have caught sight of both young and adult birds flying together and giving us some really spectacular aerial displays.  Over the last couple of weeks we haven't been seeing that same behaviour.  It could be that the young birds have started to hunt for themselves.

That said,  we are still seeing the Peregrines around - both flying and sitting on Dove Stone rocks.  It's not clear whether some of the young birds have left the area or are simply somewhere else not visible from Ashway Gap.  A good example would be a sighting at the weekend of one of the birds in the water up at Chew Res.  If you're reading this,  thanks for the info Shaun !

Elsewhere around Dove Stone there have been recent sightings of Bullfinch,  Oystercatcher,  both Great Spotted and Green Woodpeckers,  gangs of Goldfinches,  Kestrel,  Buzzard,  Long Tailed tit,  Treecreeper,  Nuthatch,  Wheatear,  Reed Bunting,  Little Owl and Short Eared Owl,  Golden Plover,  Whinchat,  Ring Ouzel,  Dipper,  Common Lizard and Stoat.  Still no sign of the Crossbills this week which were seen not so long ago. . .
