Day 3 of the 30-minute birding slot. This morning has given us Coal Tit, Blue TIt, Great Tit, Goldfinch, Siskin, Chaffinch, Robin, Blackbird, Pheasant and Great Spotted Woodpecker on and around the feeders, all of which have been present over the last couple of days. No signs of Brambling though. Aside from birds on and around the feeders at Binn Green in my half-hour I also saw Wood Pigeon, Magpie, Carrion Crow and a Dunnock, the latter which I was quite pleased about - to some just, a small, unassuming brown bird but I think they're rather beautiful when you really look at them. So, day 3 of the 30-minute birding slot at Binn Green has given us 14 birds, and our running total is 19. Recording the wildlife we see - even on a small scale like this - makes me reflect that if you don't record what you do see, how do you notice / register it's absence?
Last blog post of the year is tomorrow with a look at some of the birding highlights at Dovies over the past year...
Hi David,
Thanks for the message - good one with the Buzzard. Back on with the 30-minuite birding from today, plus a bit of a round-up of last year that I didn't get the time to do before Xmas...
Hello Rachel. Came across today, my list very similar, no Brambling which was a disappointment. Buzzard and female Kestrel made up for it. Thanks for the blog. DB.
