Hello again, here are the sightings from today so far. Thanks go again to Gerald for sending them my way.
On the Mere today there were sightings of 1 med gull, 2 shelduck, 1 black tailed godwit, 2 redshank and one sand martin flying over the water here.
We had more booming from the two male bitterns today - from the reedbed screen and the reedbed hide. A bittern was also seen in flight - flying from the monitoring hide area to the bittern bus stop area.
A male bearded tit was seen from the reedbed screen today and from the reedbed hide there were sightings of tufted duck and little grebe.
A Cetti's Warbler was heard from the Field Pool West hide and a chiffchaff from the Field Pool East hide.
Finally from the book today come the sightings from Wath Ings - 6+ goldeneye, little grebe and pochard.
The only other sightings today are via John Seeviour and Twitter. He was at Bolton Ings and saw the following - 2 mute swans, 5 great crested grebe, 3 little grebe, 8 mallard, 5 gadwall, 4 shovelor, 11 tufted duck, 7 pochard, 3 cormorant, one grey heron, one buzzard, one kestrel, one sparrowhawk, one common gull, three male reed bunting, 2 bullfinch (male and female), 6 chiffchaff, one green woodpecker and one jay.
