Evening folks! On a day that felt more like winter than spring, here is the summary of sightings from Old Moor…
At the remarkable Adwick Washland today, Gary Stones reported: two wheatear (one female), one yellow wagtail, five grey partridge, eleven avocet and three swallow among a full list that can be found here. Thanks Gary.
The news from Bolton Ings was provided by John Seeviour. His sightings included: two goosander, five plus chiffchaff and three sand martin. The complete list can be found by clicking here. Thanks John.
And sadly, thems the sightings for the day. Just time for a pic to finish off tonight’s ramblings. This one is of a nervous-looking redshank, scanning the darkening skies of the Wader Scrape this afternoon.
Until next time
Watchful redshank from Ian Morris. Thanks Ian.
Nice to hear that sand martins are back. Interestingly, they are usually the first of the hirundines I see each year but they have been beaten into 2nd place this year by a couple of swallows yesterday over at Wentworth. :)
