Still lovely and warm ..  If I owned a hosepipe I would definitely ban it  !! 

Here are today's squirtings ..

Sorry .. Sightings ! 

Old Moor first .... 

The Field Pool had 2 lapwings, 12 snipe, a shelduck, 5 redshanks and greylag geese ..

A shoveler and an oystercatcher were seen on the Wader Scrape and a pochard was reported from Wath Ings ...

There were 3 water rails 'squealing' in the reedbeds and there were linnets, bullfinches and reed buntings seen on Green Lane ..

On the Mere were 2 common gulls and 2 lesser black-backed gulls .. a sand martin was also seen over by the artificial bank  ..

Little grebes were reported from various parts of the reserve and a blackcap was seen in the garden next to the farmhouse too ..

Butterflies seen were brimstone, comma and peacock ..

Elsewhere, there were 2 Egyptian geese on Broomhill Flash  and 2 avocets on Wombwell Ings ..

Edderthorpe Flash had 6 avocets, 16 redshanks, 472 golden plovers and 7 shelducks ..
