UPDATED 15/03/19  - Sadly, the ‘Stars and Starlings’ event planned for this coming Saturday has been cancelled. If you have any questions regarding booking, please contact the Visitor Centre at Old Moor.

Here is the summary of sightings from today at Old Moor…

Sightings from Adwick Washland today included: four avocet, four ringed plover, twelve redshank and one oystercatcher and John Seeviour’s sightings from Bolton Ings can be found here. Thanks John.

A common gull from Wath Ings this afternoon

Although it was hard to ignore the bittern’s booms - despite the winds - the birds that caught my attention today were those bramblings in the Tree Sparrow Farm. Today five birds fed very close to the screen giving some incredible views of this winter finch.

So, to finish tonight’s blog, here’s one of the five as seen in a break in the weather this afternoon. Until next time.
