Something different reported from Old Moor today ..

A stoat was seen on the track near to the dipping pond and there were 2 hares on the far banking of the Mere in front of the Family hide.

Now back to the birdlife ..

A sedge warbler was heard outside the Visitor's Centre.

There were 12 redshanks and 6 ringed plovers on the Wader Scrape.

Wath Ings had around 45 sand martins with one or two swallows mixed in among them.

There was a snipe on the Field Pool and 2 willow warblers were on Green Lane.

Butterflies too !  There were 4 peacocks on Green Lane and a brimstone was reported from the area next to the Family hide.

 

Wombwell Ings had 6 little-ringed plovers, 2 whooper swans and 2 white wagtails.
