Good Evening one and all hope your all well and not suffering to much from rising damp. what a couple of weeks we have had what with the euro and banks and floods and one of the worst summers I can remember the rainfall on the Crook is double last year for June and July is heading along the same lines.

We have been trying to move things along at the Crook, and in the Wigtown Bay Visitor Room Alexa has been very industrious with children's events and raptor days, building a Bug Hotel and and lots of other things.

I have been busy for May and June doing surveys etc. So at last we have started the summer events last friday with 5 visitors attending with a "walk on the wildside" and a walk at Barclye looking at the woodland pasture, I know not my normal area but was standing in for William.

Anyway this coming Friday the 20th July we have our first ever Bat and Moth Night at the Crook starting at 9pm finishing around 11pm. have got detectors and some torches and an moth trap which we will leave running all night and then do a moth release at 10am on the 21st . So I am praying for good weather. We will be doing hot drinks (tea and  coffee). Hope some of our followers can make it. Please remember your midge net or a good brand of repellent.

The on the 23rd July and 6th August we have our next two "walk on the wildside" events.
