Great news from  that the Council have agreed to repair the access road to the Crook of Baldoon Reserve.

I figured it was such an important issue it deserved a Blog Topic of it's own, so Bill and Paul can keep us up to date with progress.

  • Good news! Anyone who has gone - or attempted to go - to the Crook will know what an important decision this is by DGFirst. The case put to them was that the reserve was almost unusable by visitors because of the condition of the access road - whether by local residents or the increasingly important 'wildlife tourism' visitors to our area.  So, thanks to DGFirst for recognising the significance of the Crook, and supporting the work that RSPB, Paul and volunteers are putting in to the reserve. The road will not be resurfaced - the cost would be prohibitive - but will be patched and filled to what we hope will be an adequate standard.  The work has been authorised and given a 'soon as possible' status.
