There have been no sightings of the Wigtown Bay Ospreys since Thursday, 24th August when H/D and JD were seen on CCTV camera at the nest site, so we are beginning to wonder if they have all migrated?
A visitor reported seeing an osprey flying near Wigtown on Monday 29th August, which was presumably one of our birds, and they have been really elusive this season, so who knows whether they are still around or not.
I'll let you all know if there is any more news.
In the meantime I am downloading the recorded footage from earlier this season, which will hopefully be edited and ready to show during the Wigtown Book Festival at the end of September. I am also still updating the Wigtown Bay Ospreys website and will be posting more video clips on there.
At the moment the empty osprey nest has been filled by Pied Wagtails and Tree Sparrows, nice to see, but still not ospreys!
Good to hear, I won't give up hope of a last sighting yet! We had another sighting at Three Lochs yesterday too, unlikely to be one of ours, probably a passing migrant.
Please keep me posted if anyone has any more sightings in the Wigtown Bay area.
Good morning Ian had one maybe one of ours fishing on the bay yesterday just after high tide
