  • I visited  Higham and Cliffe pools on monday 31st of may with my brother in law mark. It was nice to hear the nightingales singing at cliffe again as I have not heard them for several years. In addition to to most of the birds that you saw Elliott we saw 1 reed bunting ,a pair of peregrine falcons flying over from Higham, a spotted flycatcher sitting on the telephone wires, 4 commic terns flying up the thames. Also of interest there was a seal swimming up the thames close to shore. The other highlight of an overcast but generally fine day was when a spitfire accompanied by a moderner plane which I did not recognize flew over in the afternoon, probably on its way to Dunkirk.
