Shelduck, canada goose, black headed gull, avocet, skylark, magpie, great crested grebe, jack daw, carrion crow, and cuckoo. Would like to say thank you to Simon for calling the office to report the eels he had seen. The dog bins have been installed to satisfy the welcomed animal owners/lovers at Cliffe. A quiet weekend now most chicks have fledged. Many thanks to James for accompanying me.
Visited Cliffe Pools early Saturday Morning Myself driving the northern road from the village.
38 Shelduck, 23 Avocet, 1 Redshank, 6 Tufted Duck , 4 Pochard and plenty of Mallards from the first viewing mound. A female Marsh Harrier quatered the ditches to the east of the Black Barn which is now a shiney new Silver Barn. 2 Cuckoos were seen and numerous Whitethroats in the scrub, which is dominated by Dog Rose in full bloom and makes for quite a visual spectacle. Sedge Warblers were very showy busy collecting food.
May all your Sandpipers be Curlew.
