After the heavy recent rain the meadows and pools on the Reserve are filling up to such an extent that yesterday 23 Little Egret descended on the flooded area in front of the hide where they proceeded to feed vigorously.

Some of the group of Little Egret that spread out over the wetlands.

Other areas on the Reserve flooded also. In doing so, the meadows to the left of the Lonning attracted many hundreds of duck: Teal, Wigeon, Mallard and Shoveler -  not to mention good flocks of Lapwing.

A rather spectacular Lapwing.

A distant Roe Deer put in an appearance to the left of the hide, in the rushy meadows.
