Solway sightings from John Howard this afternoon.
"I gave the reserves (Campfield Marsh RSPB and CWT Bowness Gravel Pits) a quick visit today but found both very quiet, so after lunch I went East along the Solway to where the railings are, to see what waders the tide would bring in. I found this Turnstone and these Ringed Plovers. A porpoise kept surfacing and a seal made a brief appearance. Best of all though was this young Osprey which flew towards Carlisle about half way out over the estuary, hence the poor shot."
