5th September - Osprey fishing from a perch on the end of the Reserve's boundary fence out in the estuary.
It is always a priviledge to see Ospreys here. Although we are only getting distant views, up to two Ospreys have been seen recently on a regular daily basis, viewed from the layby near Maryland farm. They will either perch on this fence at high tide or on the taller pole in the estuary beyond. When the tide goes out they use the line of poles (with Mussel breeding ropes) which are uncovered further round to the east. Crows do hassle them however.
